  1. Sekumpul

The Sekumpul waterfalls are perhaps the most beautiful waterfalls in Bali. Located north of Ubud, it is actually a group of 7 waterfalls with different heights and powerful jets of water, a true  nature wonder.

As with most of the waterfalls in North Bali, getting to Sekumpul will take some effort. The area is quite wild. You have to cross dirt roads and slippery steps, a little challenging but worth it. Maybe the photos will inspire you to face the adventure.

  1. Aling-Aling

You can easily spend the whole day at Aling-Aling waterfall enjoying its natural pools of dark green water, natural slides and exploring the small cave. There are places for jumping into the natural pools.

Aling Aling Nature Park is located near Singaraja, one of the most important towns in North Bali. The trail to access them is easy. To get to Aling-Aling, you will have to pass through the heart of the Balinese forest, having a breathtaking view of rice plantations, palm trees, rivers and waterfalls of all sizes.

  1. Gitgit

Gitgit Waterfall is in the northern part of Bali, located just 10 km south of Singaraja. It is one of the most famous waterfalls on the island. It is suitable for families and an easily accessible waterfall, thanks to a paved road that takes about 15 minutes. Note that due to its easy access, the waterfall is very popular and can get very crowded on weekends.

A cobblestone trail leads to the waterfall, which is a group of multiple waterfalls of different heights and natural pools, surrounded by rice paddies and lush vegetation.  It’s a perfect place for taking a bath. The biggest drop is about 40 meters.

  1. Tegenungan

This is one of the most popular waterfalls in all of Bali due to its close proximity to Ubud. Despite its popularity, this waterfall is still a must-see.

The flow of water is simply impressive and in the rainy season even more so. The waterfall is about 15 meters high, it is powerful and has several points of view where you can take pictures. It has two entrances, the most busy and the other where you access the waterfall from the top (this one has much fewer people, highly recommended).

  1. Munduk

Located 62 kilometers from Ubud and almost a 2-hour drive, this is one of the most beautiful and less touristy waterfalls in Ubud, but also one of the farthest from other points of interest. It is accessible by walking down about 500 meters along a path, surrounded by vegetation.

It is a peaceful place, with unique landscapes and beautiful nature. But this isn’t the best waterfall in Bali for swimming, as it’s shallow (the water is about ankle-deep), but the drop is high and ideal for a shower.

  1. Nungnung

Known for being another of the best waterfalls in Bali, as well as one of the best known and most accessible. Nungnung is located about 35 kilometers from Ubud and about an hour and a half by car or motorcycle.

However, this waterfall is not too touristy since the hiking to get there is quite challenging and not suitable for everyone. It takes a “little” effort to go down and up about 500 steps… but it’s not the end of the world, especially after seeing the 50-meter-high natural wonder.

  1. Leke Leke

Leke Leke waterfall is still little known. It’s located about an hour from Ubud and it’s well worth the trip, with splendid views over the rice terraces.

The path is surrounded by amazing nature and is quite simple and well maintained. It also passes through a couple of bamboo bridges. The walk takes about 15 minutes.

The view from the waterfall is amazing, a narrow stream of water that falls into a natural pool where you can swim.

  1. Kanto Lampo

Another unmissable stop for those departing from Ubud – a short 11km ride. This is a very accessible waterfall: not even a 10-minute walk from the parking lot. Near the waterfall you will even find changing rooms where you can put on your swimsuit, bathrooms and lockers to leave your backpack.

There are a lot of slippery stones at the bottom of the river that will take you to the waterfall, so you better bring suitable shoes. Note that to admire the waterfall from the best view point you must dive into the water.

  1. Tukad Cepung

This is an easily accessible waterfall that can be reached by car or motorcycle and a 15-minute walk on paved pathways.  The photos of this waterfall speak for themselves. This is a unique place, and even though it does not have a large swimming pool where you can bathe, you can cool off under its curtain of water.

In fact, it is located inside a canyon 15 meters below the ground illuminated by the sun’s rays that penetrate from the opening of the cave, giving an incredible view. Seeing the waterfall through the rocks is something you can only do at Tukad Cepung.

You just have to be very careful in the rainy season as this waterfall is easily flooded. In order to avoid any unpleasant surprises, it is advisable to make sure that access is safe before going.

  1. Tibumana

It is one of the least popular waterfalls in Bali despite its proximity to Ubud (about 30 minutes driving). The easy pathway between palm trees and bamboo bridges takes about 5 minutes on foot from the parking lot. The fact that it is easily accessible and not crowded, makes it one of the best options if you are looking for a beautiful waterfall without the hustle to get there.

The waterfall is surrounded by lush vegetation and it’s the perfect place to hear the sounds of nature in a calm and uncrowded environment. Also, it’s one of the best for taking a dip in its large water pool under the waterfall’s powerful spray.
