Nusa Lembongan and Ceningan are the other two of the Nusa islands, along with Nusa Penida.  They are located very close to Bali, making it very convenient for people visiting Bali to spend a few days there away from the biggest and most famous neighboring island. It only takes 30 minutes on a boat to leave the hustle and bustle of Bali behind to enjoy the calmer, more relaxed beaches and no traffic of charming Lembongan and Ceningan. Perfect places to slow down for a day or two.

They are also different from neighboring Nusa Penida (which is a large island and still little explored). Nusa Lembongan has good hotels and restaurants and about the right level of development, but still keeps the local vibes and amazing nature pretty much untouched. However, there’s currently a lot of development taking place in Nusa Lembongan, and you’d better hurry if you want to explore this island without much tourism.

There’s a bridge connecting Lembongan to Ceningan, the neighboring island. This stylish yellow bridge makes it very convenient to hop between islands. Nusa Ceningan is the smallest of the three Nusa islands.  One day is enough to explore its main attractions. There are different options if you want some adrenaline or just enjoy a lazy day at the beach.

Nusa Lembongan

  1. Mangrove Forest

Much of the northern region of Nusa Lembongan is covered by mangroves. It’s possible to take a boat or kayak ride through the mangrove that takes about 45 minutes. The boat has no motor, so the ride is very quiet and relaxing. You will only hear the peaceful sound of nature.

  1. Enjoy the Beaches

One of the best things to do in Nusa Lembongan is, without a doubt, enjoying the beaches with crystal clear waters and white sand, but be aware of the waves. At high tide, the beaches always have very rough waves and most of the time it is impossible to take a dip. However, almost all bars have a swimming pool facing the sea, so you can swim with a beautiful view of the waves crashing into the rocks. The sea is calmer at low tide, so keep an eye on the tide table.

The main beaches in Nusa Lembongan are Mushroom Bay, Dream Beach and Jungut Batu.

Jungut Batu Beach

  1. Devils Tears

Devils Tears is a cliff on which the waves crash so hard on the cliffs, forming a large smoke of water, like a curtain of mist. Although the water splash looks fascinating and beautiful, many people visiting this place are caught off guard and end up getting soaked by the waves. Watch out if you don’t want to get wet!

Although it is possible to visit Devil’s Tears throughout the day, the sunset colors and the sun setting on the horizon make the landscape even more beautiful during sunset.

Nusa Ceningan

  1. Yellow Bridge

To enter Nusa Ceningan from Nusa Lembongan you will have to cross a Yellow Bridge, which is on the Ceningan Channel. The canal is beautiful, with crystal clear turquoise water. The bridge contrasts the colors of the canal with a vibrant yellow color. It’s pretty cool to walk on it and a nice spot for some photos.

  1. Enjoy the Beaches

As in Lembongan, it is worth taking some time to discover the beaches of Nusa Ceningan. The main ones are Secret Beach, Song Tepo Beach and Bias Munjul Beach.

  1. Blue Lagoon and Mahana Point

Blue Lagoon is the main attraction in Nusa Ceningan. But in fact, it is not a pond. It’s a bay that doesn’t have access to a beach. However, the color of the sea is impressive.

Right next to the Blue Lagoon is Mahana Point, another well-known attraction in Nusa Ceningan for being a good place to surf, enjoy the sunset and even jump into the sea from a 10 meter high platform!

Anyway, it’s worth taking a little time to stay there just admiring the landscape while listening to the waves crashing on the walls. It’s beautiful!

  1. Snorkel with Buddha

This snorkeling is fun and can be done in the morning with the manta rays. According to locals, these statues were placed there to become a tourist spot. You will take some interesting photos in this spot!
