Nusa Dua is a resort area built in the 1970s in the southern part of Bali, Indonesia. It is known as an “enclave of large five-star resorts” because it covers 350 hectares of land and encloses more than 20 resorts. It is located 22 kilometers from Denpasar, the provincial capital of Bali, and is administered by the South Kuta District, Badung Regency. Nusa Dua means two islands (Nusa ‘island’, dua ‘two’) because there are two islands in the bay of the Bali Tourism Development Corporation area. On the southern side lies Peninsula Island, and on the northern side lies Nusa Dharma Island, which is smaller but shadier, and contains the Pura/Temple Nusa Dharma.

Depending on traffic, Nusa Dua is about 20 minutes from the airport. You can get a taxi from the official airport stand at the airport when you arrive, or arrange a transfer with your hotel. If you’re coming from another area in Bali, you can take a taxi or a private driver if you want to stop off along the way.
